Johnston McMaster

Biography

Johnston McMaster is a Senior Researcher, Writer and Educator with the Ethical and Shared Remembering Programme 1912-1922 through the Junction, Derry / Londonderry. For seventeen years he directed an Education for Reconciliation Programme with the Irish School of Ecumenics in Northern Ireland and Border Counties. He remains as an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin. He is an author and broadcaster. Publications include: Overcoming Violence, A Passion for Justice: Social Ethics in the Celtic Tradition and War and Memory with Cathy Higgins. His key areas of interest and teaching are peace and reconciliation, interfaith dialogue, Biblical hermeneutics, political theology, social ethics, Celtic spirituality, Irish history and faith in a post-Christendom context. He has lectured internationally as well as throughout Ireland.
